Item #: 0792
Two oil on canvas portraits, circa 1850, one of a man and one of a woman from Windemere Plantation. Each is set into a beautiful oval frame and measures approximately 32-1/2 x 28 inches. Privately owned, Windemere Plantation is a Greek Revival style home that is listed on the National Register of Historic Homes. It boasts a secret hideaway that was used for food storage during the Civil War. The house was also known as the Sims-Brown-Harrison House, and while the couple in these portraits are not identified, it is assumed they were members of one of these families. Price shown is for both portraits.
