American artist Alonzo Chappel (1828-1887) created this steel engraving of leading Revolutionary War General John Stark by hand in 1862. Chappel was renowned for his historical illustrations. General Stark commanded battles at Princeton and Trenton NJ, and throughout the Rhode Island campaign. A statue of this American hero represents New Hampshire in the U.S. Capitol in Washington D.C. Measurements: 19-1/2w x 24”h.
